The Spiritual
formation plan

We want build our lives and our habits around the person and word of Jesus so that we can be built into his image, not the image of the world. This is why we created the Spiritual Formation Plan. All of us want to be more like Jesus, but we don’t just need good intentions; we need a good plan and a committed group of people to do it with.  So in 2026, we are inviting our whole church to do just that with one another.

Dig Deep Roots

In a world that moves fast and stays shallow, God invites us to slow down and grow deep. This year, let's step into daily disciplines that shape us into a church deeply rooted in Christ.

Master the Restart

Life gets busy -- it is far better to master the restart than master the plan. This means pick up where you left off rather than trying to catch up. (Add something here)

How it Works

commit

Discipleship to Jesus isn't something that you can fit into the corners of your life. It needs to be the main thing that the rest of our lives fit around. This Spiritual Formation plan will require time, intentionality and likely the removal of some things to make space for these habits.

read

The Goal is to read through the whole New Testament (NT) every four months and the whole Old Testament ((OT) every 2 years. Commit to a Bible reading plan that fits your pace. Feel free to modify as you need,
but we encourage you to challenge yourself over the course of this plan.

Memorize

Commit to memorizing scripture each week. To help, try reading the verse out loud 10 times, use memory acronyms, notecards or set it as your phone lock screen. Review all past verses so they stay rooted in your memory.

prayer

Commit to spending a set aside time during the week to pray through what you are reading and learning. What is God trying to teach me? What is God trying to change in me this week?

Getting Started

Bible Reading

  • Get a Study Bible and Read all the Notes - CSB Study Bible or ESV Study Bible are great.
  • Listening to an Audio Bible totally counts!
  • We recommend you watch the Bible Project Videos for Each Book.

Scripture Memory

  • To help memorize: Daily Repetition works better then cramming... read it out loud everyday 10x, Review 1x through all past week's verses.
  • Use Verse Reminders - A Notecard, a rubber band with the 1st letter of each word, or a lock screen.

Spiritual Rhythms

Use your MORNING to get a great start. Focus on reading and Bible memory with a brief time of prayer. Throughout the day, pause to pray, use a podcast/audio Bible to fill your mind with truth. Do quick verse reviews.

Master the Restart

Mastering the restart is about aiming at consistency over perfection. If you miss a few days, or a whole week... it's better to jump back in on the schedule and restart with those disciplines today, rather than trying to catch up on all you missed.
